About Liar Game

The Liar Game on this site is made and run by ORILABS, a one person indie studio. Passing a single phone around a table to check the secret word usually means someone peeks or the order gets mixed up. So we built a version where everyone joins with one link and gets their word on their own phone.

What we made

The host creates a room and shares the link, and 3 to 12 players join on their own phones. When the round starts, every role appears on every screen at once. Voting also happens on each phone, and the result and scoreboard are revealed together. For tables with only one phone, there is a pass one phone mode as well.

The words are not copied from anywhere or machine translated. Each of the 9 languages has its own hand written list, picked so that people in that language would recognize every word instantly.

Our principles

  • No sign up, nickname only. Rooms expire after 3 hours without activity and are deleted within a day.
  • The server picks the word and the liar, and each player can only see their own role.
  • So everyone can play, the word lists leave out brand names, violence and gambling.
